2015 OCTOBER 15 - TRIVIA NIGHT

Our third very successful Trivia Night was held on Thursday, October 15, with nearly 100 people attending. Before the fun and brain teasers began we ate a delicious two course dinner consisting of beef and chicken dishes along with various vegetables and salad, followed by cheesecakes. Next, Sandy McDonald announced the selling of tickets for the yearly Bonanza Raffle, with the prizes being a set of Dreamline XG Bowls. The second and third prizes are Gift Vouchers, all donated by Doncaster Bowls Store. The fourth. Prize is an electronic cooler bag donated by one of our members. The tickets are $2 each and they began selling like hot cakes. David and Ann Booth had again agreed to compere and run the Trivia questions, so it was heads down and the whispers behind the hands started. There were three categories: Fast and Furious, Musical Themes from TV Shows, and General Knowledge. Do you know how long Nelson Mandela was in jail? How high is a basketball hoop? Or Which flag is raised when a ship leaves port? We also had to name all the States of the USA. We had a map. But this question was the downfall of many teams, because, although one point was given for a correct answer, it was minus one point for an incorrect guess! When all the the scores were calculated the "69 Lemon Chicken" team won for a third time in a row!!! Their combination is really working well. Lyn Goodman
